Pixero is an on-device photo editor and scanner for iPhone and iPad. We do not collect, store, or transmit personal data.
What stays on your device
- Photos and edits. Every image you open, edit, scan, or recognise text from stays in app memory or on-device storage. Pixero never uploads images to a server.
- Presets. Editing chains you save as presets are stored in SwiftData on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, presets sync via your private iCloud container — end-to-end encrypted by Apple. Pixero has no access to that data.
- Scan history. Document and barcode scan results are saved locally. Pixero does not transmit them.
- Settings. Preferences (onboarding completion flag, default export format, capture RAW toggle, Pro entitlement) are written to local storage on your device.
On-device AI
Background removal, subject lift, face detection, text recognition, and barcode decoding run on Apple Vision and the Neural Engine on your device. Apple processes nothing for us; we send nothing to Apple beyond what iOS itself does. There is no third-party AI or ML SDK in the app.
Third-party SDKs
The following SDKs are integrated in Pixero. None collect personal data, no advertising identifiers (IDFA), and no cross-app tracking. Each service's own privacy policy and terms govern the data it processes on its side.
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash diagnostics. Collects anonymous device model, OS version, app build version, and crash stack traces. No PII, no IDFA, no advertising. Privacy · Terms
- Firebase Analytics (without AdId support) — anonymous usage events (screens visited, features used). No IDFA, no advertising. Privacy · Terms
- Superwall — paywall presentation and subscription analytics. Receives an anonymous app user ID plus product and transaction events. Does not receive payment card data. Privacy · Terms
- Apple StoreKit / App Store — handles all payments. Pixero never sees card numbers, expiration dates, or CVV codes. Privacy · Terms
Permissions
Pixero asks for permission only when you actively invoke the corresponding feature:
- Camera — required for the in-app camera, document scanner, and barcode/QR scanner.
- Microphone — required only if you record video with the in-app camera.
- Photo Library — required to import photos for editing and to save edited photos back.
Tracking
Pixero does not track you across apps or websites. There is no App Tracking Transparency prompt because there is no cross-app tracking to disclose. Pixero does not use advertising SDKs or sell data to third parties.
Children's Privacy
Pixero is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal data from anyone.
