A sysdiagnose is a diagnostic file iOS builds itself. It records which company made the phone's display panel.

Steps

  1. Trigger it. Press and release both volume buttons and the side button together, briefly. Do not hold them: holding can start Emergency SOS or lock the phone.
  2. Wait about 10 minutes. iOS gathers the file in the background.
  3. Open the list. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data. On some iOS versions it is called View Analytics Logs.
  4. Find the file. Open the newest entry named sysdiagnose_...tar.gz.
  5. Share it. Tap Share and pick where it should go, for example Panelmi on your own phone.

No buttons? Turn on AssistiveTouch in Settings > Accessibility > Touch and add a custom action for analytics to its menu.

For sellers

If you reached this page from a buyer's message: a buyer asks for this file because it shows the phone's real display panel and battery details, which the listing cannot prove.

The file contains device logs, so share it only with someone you trust. A safer option is to run Panelmi on your own phone and send the buyer the result card. The card holds only the model, panel maker, a three-character panel code and the approximate month, and Panelmi reads the file on your phone without uploading it.

Check it with Panelmi

Panelmi reads the file on your iPhone and shows the panel maker (Samsung Display, LG Display or BOE), the panel code and about when the panel was made. It does not say any maker is better than another.
