The reliable way to know is your own panel code, not the model name.
Short answer: the iPhone 17 Pro can come with a panel from more than one maker, and the model name does not tell you which. The only way to know yours is its panel code.
A Chinese news report (October 2025) put iPhone 17 series OLED panels at Samsung 64.5 percent, LG 34.5 percent and BOE 1.4 percent. It is a single source, so treat it as likely, not confirmed, and it covers the whole series, not this model.
| Code | Maker | Reported for |
|---|---|---|
| G9N | Samsung Display | iPhone 15 Pro, 16 Pro and the 17 family (OLED) |
| G9P | Samsung Display | iPhone 15 Pro, 16 Pro and the 17 family (OLED) |
| G9Q | Samsung Display | iPhone 15 Pro, 16 Pro and the 17 family (OLED) |
| GH3 | LG Display | iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the 16 and 17 series |
| GVC | LG Display | iPhone 16 and 17 series and iPhone Air |
| G9C | LG Display | iPhone 16 and 17 series |
Codes are listed as reported for the series or the generation, not for this exact model. J5V is reported for base models, so it is not listed for the Pro line.
